'For those about to mok...A four Track Taster EP. The Oporto label this week releases a festive taster EP featuring eminent artists from a rich and diverse pool of maverick talent. Leading the way are Bernadette and Wolfgang with a crisply ebullient take on the old country weepie Paper Roses, like Debbie Harry fronting the Pixies! Next up is ex-Lotus Eater Peter Coyle with the classic Reach for the Sun, a slice of sublime scouse pop from the much loved pop genius. A song for times when it seems there are no answers. The second half of the EP showcases Oporto stars from across the broad Atlantic. Our man in New York, Spike Priggen, plugs in with Its Alright and puts a smile on the face of any self-respecting basement rock n roll freak...way to go, fella. From New York we cut to Arizona where our ex-pat buddie Bryn Corbett directs Lightspeed Future Lullaby.
